Very first release on Vibrations that came from the ever-dependable Mark E, who drops two killer jams for the dancefloor. Escape is a bassline driven banger that drops into a hefty loop half-way through – large. The flip, Midnight Fires, is a more introspective, techno influenced cut, with crazy jazzy drums and swirling synths. We’re thinking about early morning dancefloors for this one. Escape is also remixed by Roots Unit, who add Chicago house elements within a reggae aesthetic

Thick three-tracker from Mark E! 'Escape' is one of those mid-tempo cosmic Techno burners Mr. E specializes in, keeping a magic tension between soul-tugging groove and electronic frenzy. On the flip 'Midnight Fires' starts out heavy and purposeful, driven by big padded kicks, but seems gets progressively lighter until the tracks end, leaving the 'floor in a dreamy lather. The Roots Unit take on 'Escape' concentrates on a lurching dub-disco bass and and sprightly keys with tons of effervescent reverbs.
